With new turbines in Rajasthan and Gujarat, the company’s 200 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project now has 434.35 MWp of generation capacity in operation, alongside a fully commissioned battery energy storage system.

Juniper Green Energy Limited has commissioned an additional 65.4 MW of wind power capacity under its 200 MW contracted Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project with SJVN Limited. The capacity was brought online on October 16, 2026, by Juniper Green Stellar Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, and was disclosed to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE the same day under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Capacity Added Across Rajasthan and Gujarat

The latest addition is spread across two locations: 9.3 MW at Fatehgarh IV Section I in Rajasthan and 56.1 MW at Jam Khambhaliya in Gujarat. With these turbines in operation, the total wind capacity commissioned under the project has reached 175.35 MW.

According to the company’s filing, generation capacity commissioned under the project now stands at 434.35 MWp against a total planned capacity of 550.6 MWp. The battery energy storage system (BESS) of approximately 201 MWh is already fully in place, leaving roughly 116 MWp of generation capacity still to be commissioned.

Solar and Storage Already in Operation

The project, implemented through Juniper Green Stellar, combines 259 MWp of solar capacity, 280 MW of wind capacity and around 201 MWh of BESS. The solar component began commercial operations in March 2026, followed by the BESS in April 2026. At that stage, Juniper Green Energy stated that it was the first developer among the awardees of the SJVN FDRE tender to begin commissioning and power supply, and described the project as India’s first FDRE project to enter commissioning under the Ministry of Power’s FDRE guidelines.

With solar and storage complete, wind is the only remaining part of the hybrid configuration. Commenting on the milestone, Ankush Malik, Wholetime Director and CEO of Juniper Green Energy, said the commissioning “marks another important milestone in the execution of our SJVN FDRE project.” He added that the company continues to make steady progress on the wind component and remains focused on disciplined execution and timely delivery as it builds its portfolio of integrated renewable energy projects.

Rapid Pace of Commissioning in October

The October 16 addition follows closely on earlier progress at the same project. On October 1, 2026, Juniper Green Stellar commissioned 15.5 MW of wind capacity, taking the project to 368.95 MWp. Together, the two tranches have added about 81 MW of wind capacity within roughly two weeks.

Elsewhere in its portfolio, the company fully commissioned its 150 MW wind-solar hybrid project under a power purchase agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) on October 12, 2026, with the commissioning of the final 5 MW wind turbine. This was witnessed by officials of the Gujarat Energy Development Agency and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited. Following these additions, the aggregate operational capacity of Juniper Green Energy and its subsidiaries has risen from about 2,745 MWp on October 12 to approximately 2,811 MWp, supported by around 603 MWh of BESS.

Power Offtake by Haryana

Juniper Green Energy has signed a 200 MW power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN for the project, which was awarded through competitive bidding under SJVN’s FDRE tender. SJVN, acting as the intermediary procurer, has executed a back-to-back power sale agreement with the Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC), under which firm renewable power from the project is supplied to Haryana’s distribution utilities.

Policy Framework

FDRE projects are procured under the Ministry of Power’s Guidelines for Tariff Based Competitive Bidding Process for Procurement of Firm and Dispatchable Power from Grid Connected Renewable Energy Power Projects with Energy Storage Systems, notified on June 9, 2023, under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003. The framework requires developers to supply renewable power according to a demand profile specified in the bid documents, which is why these projects pair solar and wind generation with energy storage. The aim is to give distribution companies renewable power that can be scheduled reliably, rather than power available only when the resource is.

Expanding FDRE Pipeline

The company is also adding to its FDRE pipeline. On August 26, 2026, its subsidiary Juniper Nirjara Energy Private Limited signed a 25-year PPA with SJVN for a 50 MW FDRE project under the SJVN FDRE-2 scheme at a tariff of INR 4.25 per unit, following a Letter of Award received on February 3, 2025. The project will combine solar generation with BESS and must deliver four hours of peak-hour supply with 90% availability on a monthly basis. Its scheduled commercial operation date falls within 24 months of the PPA’s effective date, and the company has indicated expected annual revenue of INR 80 crore from the project.

Outlook

With about 79% of its planned generation capacity and the entire storage component now operational, the SJVN FDRE-I project is approaching full commissioning. Completion of the balance wind capacity will allow the project to operate in its full designed configuration, strengthening Haryana’s access to firm renewable supply and providing an operational reference for FDRE projects under development across India.
