(Samakhiali, Gujarat)
Waaree Energies Limited has commenced operations at a new solar module manufacturing facility in Gujarat, operated by its wholly owned subsidiary, Sangam Solar One Private Limited. The facility, located in Samakhiali, Kutch, has a total annual production capacity of 3,000 MW. This commissioning represents a scaling of infrastructure necessary to service the company’s substantial contract obligations.
Technical Specifications and Infrastructure Breakdown
The new facility utilizes a modular production structure to ensure operational efficiency. The technical breakdown of the site includes:
- Total Production Lines: 4 lines.
- Capacity per Line: 750 MW.
- Facility Location: Samakhiali, Kutch district, Gujarat.
This commencement of operations follows an earlier phase at the same Samakhiali site in November 2025, which established an initial capacity of 1.5 GW through two 750 MW production lines.
Corporate Context: Global Manufacturing Footprint
With the activation of the Kutch facility, Waaree Energies has reached a total global solar module manufacturing capacity of 22.77 GW. This rapid expansion was further supported by the November 14, 2025, commissioning of a 2.1 GW facility in Degam village, Navsari district, Gujarat. The group’s geographical manufacturing footprint is currently distributed as follows:
- India Operations: 20.17 GW.
- United States Operations: 2.6 GW.
In addition to module assembly, the company reports a solar cell manufacturing capacity of 5.4 GW. This cell capacity is central to the company’s ongoing backward integration strategy, aimed at securing the upstream value chain. Furthering this integration, the board recently approved a capital expenditure of 39 billion rupees ($468 million) for a solar glass manufacturing unit with a capacity of 2,500 tonnes per day under Waaree Green Glass Private Limited.
These capacity increases are strategically aligned with the company’s robust order book, currently valued at approximately 600 billion rupees ($7.2 billion). This includes a secured one-time order for 500 MW of solar modules from a domestic independent power producer (IPP), scheduled for execution in FY 2026–27.
