New Delhi-based infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company Annu Projects Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with GEIE Solar Products India Private Limited to procure and supply materials for 8,000 grid-connected rooftop solar systems in Dausa, Rajasthan. Each system will have a capacity of 1.1 kWp, giving a combined 8.8 MWp, under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The company disclosed the MoU on 6 November 2026 and describes it as an expansion into renewable energy.

Key Details

According to the company’s disclosure and press release, the main terms are:

  • Project: Lot-3 (Dausa) of a rooftop solar tender floated by Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL), awarded to GEIE Solar Products India
  • Underlying award value: ₹44,30,56,000 (about ₹44.31 crore), the total contract value of the JVVNL award to GEIE
  • Model: utility-led aggregation under PM Surya Ghar
  • Annu Projects’ scope: procurement and exclusive supply of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules, mounting structures, DC and AC cables, grid-tied inverters, internet dongles for remote monitoring and other balance-of-system parts
  • GEIE’s scope: installation, commissioning, net metering, beneficiary coordination and operations and maintenance (O&M)
  • Timeline: completion within six months, as stipulated in the award

The materials will be bought to the technical specifications in the award documents and verified by JVVNL officials before purchase. The MoU provides for a project account and an agreed payment mechanism for the supply consideration. It states that it does not create a partnership, joint venture or agency relationship between the two companies. The disclosure does not give the value of the supply portion that will accrue to Annu Projects or the start date.

Supplies will be made against agreed purchase orders placed under the MoU. Annu Projects holds no shares in GEIE, and the filing states that the two companies are not related parties and that the transaction is not a related-party transaction.

Management Comment

Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kumar Sarraf said the MoU marks an important step in expanding the company’s participation in renewable energy, drawing on its procurement and infrastructure capabilities. He said decentralised solar power is emerging as an important driver of India’s energy transition. Sarraf added that government initiatives such as PM Surya Ghar are accelerating household adoption of rooftop solar and strengthening the clean energy ecosystem. He said the company looked forward to contributing to the successful implementation of the Dausa project. He said its experience across infrastructure segments would help it take part in emerging opportunities and support its long-term growth and diversification.

Krishna Kadariya, Managing Director and co-director of GEIE Solar Products India, said a dependable supply of materials is central to completing installations on schedule, with rooftop solar adoption gaining momentum in India. He said large programmes of this kind need strong coordination across procurement, technology, supply chains and on-ground work. Kadariya said the MoU gives both companies a clear framework for the Dausa project and that GEIE will work with Annu Projects to meet the requirements of the award.

Policy Backdrop

The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was launched in February 2024 to install rooftop solar panels in one crore homes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke about the scheme at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 in New Delhi on 2 November 2026. He said more than 65 lakh households had joined within 24 to 25 months, at a pace of one lakh new homes every six days. He said the scheme had cut electricity bills by roughly 76%, according to a study. Prime Minister Modi also urged innovators to design round-the-clock solar models that meet most household energy needs.

  • November 2026: signed the MoU with GEIE Solar Products India for the Dausa rooftop solar project.

Outlook

The six-month completion window in the JVVNL award sets the pace for material supply, which must clear JVVNL verification before purchase. Annu Projects says it aims to use its procurement experience to pursue further opportunities in renewable energy and allied infrastructure. The press release says Annu Projects will procure materials in line with the award documents, while GEIE handles installation, net metering and beneficiary coordination across Dausa.
