Gurugram-based Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited (SEIL), the Indian listed arm of the Schneider Electric Group, booked its highest-ever quarterly order intake of ₹1,265 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up 50.9% year on year. Sales rose 19.8% to ₹779 crore, while earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) fell 31% to ₹56 crore. The maker of transformers, switchgear and grid automation products filed its results with the stock exchanges on 5 November 2026. Its order backlog rose 49.6% to ₹2,701 crore.
Key Financials
According to the company’s revised press release, the figures for Q2 FY27 against Q2 FY26 were:
- Order intake: ₹1,265 crore, against ₹838 crore
- Sales: ₹779 crore, against ₹650 crore
- EBIT: ₹56 crore, against ₹81 crore
- Order backlog (30 September 2026): ₹2,701 crore, up 49.6%
For the first half of FY27, order intake rose 24.7% to ₹2,180 crore and sales rose 12.5% to ₹1,430 crore. EBIT for the half fell 40.4% to ₹88 crore from ₹148 crore. The company issued a revised release on the same day to correct a typographical error in the EBIT figure. It said no other change was made.
Orders and Margins
The Q2 intake beat the previous quarterly high of ₹915 crore, set in Q1 FY27, by ₹350 crore. SEIL said demand stayed strong across its established segments and in emerging ones such as data centres and semiconductors. Sales were also up 19.6% over Q1 FY27, and the company said project execution had picked up.
EBIT equalled 7.2% of sales in the quarter, against 12.5% in Q2 FY26, and 6.2% in the half, according to the investor presentation. The company said profitability remains below last year because of commodity price volatility and a lag in passing on higher input costs on some older orders. It said margins are improving each quarter as it executes orders booked at current cost levels. The release does not name the customers behind the record order intake or give a segment-wise split.
The presentation highlights wins in semiconductors, data centres and renewables. These include medium-voltage switchgear panels and transformers for a front-end semiconductor fabrication plant and integrated medium-voltage skid solutions for data centre customers. It also lists transformers, automation panels and circuit breakers for renewable projects, and what it calls its largest e-house order, secured for a strategic client.
Management Comment
Deepak Sharma, Zone President for Greater India at Schneider Electric and a board director of SEIL, said demand from data centres, semiconductors and grid infrastructure continued to be strong as India advances its electrification and industrial modernisation. He said that, while profitability remains below last year, the priority is to convert the order book into sales and improve project margins.
Managing Director and CEO Udai Singh said the record orders, a sequential recovery in sales and a record backlog made it a solid half year. He said the focus now is on timely delivery, operational excellence and the margin quality of the order book.
Policy Backdrop
SEIL’s investor presentation lists the government programmes it sees supporting demand. These include the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), the third phase of the Green Energy Corridors, the National Electricity Plan, viability gap funding (VGF) for battery storage and inter-state transmission system (ISTS) charge waivers. Inaugurating the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo 2026 on 2 November 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country is advancing to the next phase of strengthening transmission infrastructure.
About the Company

The company says all its manufacturing sites run on 100% renewable electricity and that it has cut Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by about 80% over three years. Women make up 19.6% of its workforce, according to the presentation. Parent Schneider Electric has 160,000 employees and 1 million partners in over 100 countries. The latest investor presentation features SEIL’s EvoPacT 36 kV breaker, which uses vacuum switching without SF6 gas and is aimed at solar, data centre, battery storage and semiconductor users.
