NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for 100 MW of a 200 MW wind power project. In a Regulation 30 filing to the stock exchanges dated 5 November 2026, NLC India said the NLC India Renewables wind PPA was executed on 4 November 2026 at New Delhi. The agreement sets a Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date of 3 November 2028.
How NIRL won the 200 MW wind project
According to the filing, NIRL took part in the tender floated by SJVN Limited for development of wind power projects under ISTS-Tranche-IV. ISTS stands for inter-state transmission system, which means the projects connect to the national transmission network rather than to a single state’s grid. NIRL was declared the successful bidder, and SJVN issued the Letter of Award on 4 September 2026 for development of a 200 MW wind power project.
The PPA signed on 4 November 2026 covers 100 MW out of the total 200 MW. The filing does not say whether a PPA for the remaining 100 MW has been signed or when one is expected, so VYQON does not report any such date.
What the filing does not disclose
The one-page intimation is short on commercial details. It does not state the tariff, the location or state of the project, the wind turbine supplier, the project cost or the expected annual generation. VYQON has therefore left these out rather than rely on unconfirmed figures.
About the companies
NLC India Limited is a Navratna Government of India enterprise, with its registered office in Chennai and its corporate office at Neyveli, in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. It listed the intimation under Scrip Symbol NLCINDIA and Scrip Code 513683. NIRL is its wholly owned renewable energy subsidiary. SJVN Limited is the agency that ran the ISTS-Tranche-IV wind tender and is the counterparty to the PPA.
What it means for India’s clean-energy sector
For NLC India Renewables, the PPA moves part of a competitively won wind project from award to a signed offtake contract. With the Letter of Award issued on 4 September 2026 and the PPA signed two months later, the 100 MW portion now has a fixed date, 3 November 2028, by which supply is scheduled to begin.
Related VYQON reports on NLC India’s renewable and storage plans include NLC India’s 250 MW/500 MWh battery energy storage system in Tamil Nadu and NLC India Renewables’ selection of a consultant for a 600 MW solar plus 300 MW/1,800 MWh storage project won through a SECI auction.
A signed PPA is normally a precondition for a developer to arrange financing and place equipment orders, but the filing gives no information on those steps for this project.
