The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has invited proposals from States and Union Territories to implement the skilling, upskilling, and reskilling component under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM). The initiative aims to create a specialized workforce for the hydrogen value chain, including production, storage, and transportation.

Eligible Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) include government bodies, NGOs, and private firms with at least three years of existence and one year of specific experience in the hydrogen sector. The selection will be based on a scoring matrix: Technical Expertise (30%), Financial Strength (20%), and Innovation (20%). This program is a core part of the ₹19,744 crore NGHM budget to ensure the industry meets the 5 MMT production target by 2030.
