NTPC Group has reached a total installed capacity milestone of 90,857 MW. This figure represents the collective capacity of the parent entity, NTPC Limited, and its various subsidiaries and joint venture companies. The update follows the commissioning of a 50 MW solar capacity tranche in Rajasthan and a simultaneous tranche addition at the Khavda-I project in Gujarat. This milestone distinguishes the group’s total footprint from the standalone installed capacity of NTPC Limited, which is approximately 60,950 MW.

The capacity addition in Rajasthan consists of a 50 MW solar tranche under the 200 MW Renewable Energy Round The Clock (RTC) project. This asset is executed by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, which functions as a step-down subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture associated with NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). This commissioning represents the third tranche of the project’s solar component. The Commercial Operation Date (COD) for this 50 MW capacity was effective from 00:00 hours on June 14, 2026. With this addition, the cumulative commissioned capacity for the 300 MW solar component of the RTC project has reached 250 MW.

In Gujarat, the group’s capacity was further augmented through the Khavda-I project, commissioned by NGEL. The operating entity for this asset is NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGEL. The project was developed under the CPSU Scheme Phase-II Tranche-III. This latest addition is part of the broader Khavda-I Solar PV Project, which has a total planned capacity of 1,255 MW. The incremental capacity commissioned at this site supports the group’s transition toward its renewable energy targets and the finalization of the Khavda-I infrastructure.

The updated technical metrics for the group indicate a total installed capacity of 90,857 MW, while the total commercial capacity is recorded at 89,824 MW. The corporate structure facilitating these assets includes the parent company, NTPC Limited, and its renewable energy arms, NGEL and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL). Additionally, the group’s capacity includes joint ventures such as the NTPC-SAIL Power Company Limited (NSPCL), a partnership with the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). These figures reflect the current operational status of the group’s diversified energy portfolio across standalone and subsidiary-managed assets.
