The administrative and commercial parameters for the Bhadla Solar Park Phase-II BESS are established as follows:

• Development Model: Build-Own-Operate (BOO).
  • This selection aligns with standard procurement pathways for stand-alone capacity contracts as outlined in industry decision frameworks (Exhibit ES4), where the developer retains the asset throughout and beyond the contract term.
• Capacity Context: Integration within the existing 680 MW Bhadla Solar Park Phase-II grid connectivity infrastructure. The BESS asset is intended to interface with this specific connectivity rating.
• Concession Period: 15 years.
• Operational Framework: Developer-led implementation. The designated entity is responsible for the financing, design, and long-term operation of the storage asset.

Technical Objectives and Grid Integration

The primary technical objective of the BESS at Bhadla Solar Park Phase-II is the optimization of hybrid renewable energy infrastructure. According to infrastructure utilization data, transmission capacity designated for variable renewable energy resources often remains underutilised during significant periods of the annual cycle.

The BESS is configured to target the utilization of this remaining transmission capacity. By capturing energy during peak solar generation and discharging it during non-solar hours, the system is intended to increase the utilization rates of the existing grid infrastructure. This co-location strategy facilitates the shift of generation to evening hours, utilizing transmission capacity that would otherwise remain idle when solar production is absent.
