RECPDCL Floats Tender for 2 GW Pumped Storage Evacuation in Karnataka

To unlock the massive Pumped Storage Project (PSP) potential in Southern India, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) has issued a tender for a dedicated transmission system.

Technical Scope:

Objective: Establishing an Intra-State Transmission System (InSTS) for a 2,000 MW Solar Park and PSP at Ryapte Village, Tumkur.
Infrastructure: Massive augmentation of substation capacity and high-voltage line stringing to prevent curtailment.
Bidding: Tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.
Impact: This project is critical for providing “Firm and Dispatchable” RE to Karnataka’s industrial clusters.
