Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited (WRTL) has informed the stock exchanges that the scope of work under two existing letters of award (LoA) for ground-mounted solar PV plants has been revised. The two awards, each for 400 MWac of capacity, now add up to 800 MWac / 1,109 MWp, the company said in a disclosure dated 23 October 2026.

The listed engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company received the revised scope intimation on 23 October 2026 at 3:57 p.m. IST, and filed the update under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations to BSE (scrip code 534618) and the National Stock Exchange (symbol WAAREERTL).

What changed in the two awards

The filing is an update to an earlier disclosure the company made on 26 July 2026 about solar PV plant EPC contracts. The two awards are described as follows:

  • First LoA: The scope of work for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of a ground-mounted solar PV plant of 400 MWac / 552 MWp has been further revised. The company said the other terms and conditions of this LoA remain unchanged.
  • Second LoA: For the other existing LoA, also for EPC works on a ground-mounted solar PV plant, the capacity and scope of work have been revised from 400 MWac / 530 MWp to 400 MWac / 557 MWp. The AC capacity stays at 400 MWac, while the DC capacity rises by 27 MWp.

Taken together, the aggregate under the two LoAs stands at 800 MWac / 1,109 MWp, made up of 400 MWac / 552 MWp and 400 MWac / 557 MWp.

Key details disclosed in the filing

The annexure to the filing, prepared under the SEBI circular on disclosures of material events, gives the following details:

  • The orders were awarded by a domestic entity. The filing describes the awarding entity only as “one of India’s leading Renewable Energy companies” and does not name it.
  • The orders are commercial in nature and domestic.
  • The project is scheduled to be completed during the financial year 2027-28, as per the terms of the order.
  • The aggregate size of the orders is 800 MWac / 1,109 MWp.
  • The company stated that its promoter and promoter group have no interest in the entity that awarded the orders.

The filing does not disclose the contract value, the project location or the name of the customer. VYQON has not been able to confirm these details from an official source, and they are therefore not reported here.

What it means for India’s clean-energy sector

The revision shows how EPC contract sizes can change after award. In both cases the AC capacity of 400 MWac is unchanged, while the DC capacity (MWp) has moved. Projects are generally built with more DC module capacity than AC inverter capacity, so a change in the DC-to-AC ratio alters the amount of modules, structures and cabling an EPC contractor has to supply and install, even when the grid-connected capacity stays the same.

For the company, a combined 1,109 MWp of ground-mounted solar work scheduled to complete in FY 2027-28 adds to the company’s solar EPC work on hand. For the wider market, the update is one more data point that large solar EPC awards from renewable energy developers are continuing in India, with delivery schedules extending into FY 2027-28.

VYQON will update this report if the company or the awarding entity discloses the customer, the contract value or the project locations.
