Rajesh Power Services Limited has received turnkey orders worth ₹1,628.74 crore, including taxes, from Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Limited (DGVCL) to convert existing 11/22 kV high-tension and low-tension overhead networks to an underground cable system with SCADA-compatible equipment. The Ahmedabad-based transmission and distribution engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company disclosed the orders to BSE on 4 November 2026 and issued a press release on 5 November 2026. The orders are to be executed in 24 months.

What the orders cover

According to the company’s regulation 30 filing, the orders are turnkey contracts for conversion of the existing 11/22 kV HT and LT overhead network to an underground (UG) cable system, with SCADA-compatible equipment, under the SI Scheme at various locations under DGVCL in Gujarat. The awarding entity is domestic, and the company says the orders were received in the normal course of business.

The filing states that the promoter, promoter group and group companies have no interest in DGVCL, and that the orders are not related party transactions. It does not name the individual locations or circles within the DGVCL area, the length of cable, or the margins on the work, so those are not reported here.

Order book effect

In its press release, Rajesh Power says its aggregate order book has risen to approximately ₹5,400 crore with this order, an expansion of about 35% from ₹4,000 crore before it. The release also lists a previous order from Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) of ₹471.92 crore and says the company reported 46% year-on-year revenue growth in the first half of FY27, with healthy profitability and improving cash generation.

The release describes the DGVCL order as a “back-to-back” win from Gujarat’s power utilities. The release gives no detail on payment terms or any phasing within the 24 months.

About the company

Rajesh Power describes itself as a specialised EPC company in India’s power transmission and distribution sector, with over five decades of experience. Its capabilities include GIS and AIS substations, extra-high-voltage power cables, power transmission lines, distribution network infrastructure, underground cabling projects, and operation and maintenance services. It operates in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, and lists ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001 and 55001 certifications.

Why underground conversion matters

Moving overhead distribution lines underground is a form of distribution network modernisation. The orders pair underground cabling with SCADA-compatible equipment, which allows utilities to monitor and control the network remotely. The release itself frames the order within strong sectoral opportunities in power distribution modernisation, though it does not give figures for the wider market.

What it means for India’s clean-energy sector

Distribution networks are the last link between renewable generation and consumers, and the quality of that network affects how much new solar and wind power can be handled. A ₹1,628.74 crore order from a single state distribution company shows the scale of spending on distribution upgrades in Gujarat. For Rajesh Power, the order sets a multi-year execution load for the 24-month contract period. The filing and release do not state how the work will be funded beyond naming the SI Scheme, and this article does not speculate on it.
